The very first corrupted perk in any attritibute is based on how corrupted that attribute is, but that is the only instance where the actual corruption value matters. It doesn't affect the scaling of the base, uncorrupted attribute at all. You are also free to distribute your points across more attributes to increase your versatility in several different aspects.
