Sp20 wads
If you stick with RXP20 wads, I would go with the 15.5 grains over the 16.5 grain load (but you are really splitting hairs as it is 1200 vs. 1250 fps). I just like the slightly lower pressure (especially if used in sub-gauge tubes). Without powder the AAF1 diffidently catches on the base wad lip of the AA20-HS hulls. Sense I have a one ounce load using the Rem SP20 wad I am set and only out $4. Normally for target and most of my bird hunting with the 20 gauge I load STS hulls with Orange Dusters. Or can use RXP20 wads in AA20-HS hulls if needed.Hi guys, Trying to clean out my basement and get rid of inventory. The DRV-20 and Orange Duster are 7/8 oz wads where as the Rem SP-20 is a 1 oz. wad. Rem's 7/8 oz version is the RXP-20. Hodgdon lists 64 loads for 1oz 20ga in AAHS hulls. 9 loads with longshot and SP20 or AA20F1 wads. According to the Hodgdon website: AAHS, 1oz shot, 15.7gr of Longshot with Win209 is 1,165fps at 10,900psi. AAHS, 1oz shot, 17.2gr of Longshot with Win209 is 1,220fps at 12,000psi.

The WAA20 OEM wad also takes up too much room. It really depends on what powder you're using, and consequently the volume, if you're using Unique, you're in trouble, if you're using WSF you have more options. The STS 20 is probably the most difficult hull to find a suitable alternative for, unless you're using a very dense powder.When I moved up to a MEC 9000 reloader, the results still were not good, perhaps even worse. I tried increasing the wad pressure to 60 - 70 lbs but I was told by MEC that I should not do that. MEC recommended either Downrange wads or Remington RPX wads. I tried the Down Range wads and the Remington wads and I prefer the Remington wads.
