for base monhun Rise, Nargacuga LBG is the comfiest for Rapid Fire Pierce 2. However, my personal favourite is the Magnamalo LBG, arguably the most versatile LBG in the base game. You can build for Normal 3, Spread 3, Pierce 3. Sticky 3 and Slicing are also available, sticky has been nerfed, especially in term of recoil, but it still has its use.
Element pierce ammos are currently destroying the meta, most monsters just die in less than a minutes in speedrun, and this is not just for element pierce but for all weapons. The reason is that element was buffed a lot with many moves dealing more elements, element skills are no so easy to slot with the new decorations, etc.HBG and LBG are going to be reeeeally hard to build effectively early on. Narg and Kadachi HBGs are pretty good with pierce, and can be worked on as you advance. They even synergize with Narg set!
