The steering felt mushy and it was running rough. Also, the A/C compressor went off and was blowing just fan air. Not sure if those items are related though. I had the same problem of ESP and ABS Malfunction problem but the gear shiting was fine. finally it turned out to be the wheel sensor (within the steering wheel housing) & was replaced by the dealer as under warranty. you can see similar threads far below in this page ... 2. Force Reset Via ESP Button. Once you have located the ESP button, press and hold it for five seconds, performing a hard reset of the electronic circuits of the ESP.
