I live 60 miles from a Honda dealership and am wondering if I need to get the codes read there.You can also pull the cover of the underhood fuse box and check the voltage at the alternator in put there. There are two large screws on the drivers side of the fuse box. That's where the alternator power comes in and then goes to the battery from there. Make sure the voltage is around 14 volts there too.

No more flashing "D" coming back so far and it appears to be shifting fine. Also, the technician did say that the transmission fluid was fairly "dirty" but nothing abnormal.

Yes, it's normal for this light to flash after you lock the van. It means the security system is active. If you ever lock the van and the light does not flash, something is wrong.
