The light flywheel is not great with A/C which a must down here and I think the dual mass will make the engine feel a little smoother. The F1 clutch is also a little weak for the s52. I think your 260 bell housing is large enough for the M3 clutch why not go with that it's bound to be better as it's designed for the power. ZekeTheSneak.06-07-2015, 07:27 PM. So I am in the process of splitting a getrag 260 and so far I got it to split about a 1/4 inch and now there seems to be something causing it to stick. so far I removed all of the rear bolts that hold the case together, I have taken out the reverse switch, the reverse gear shaft retaining bolt and the selector shaft pin.

the 6 speed getrag is used in vettes, vipers, tt supras, & other cars i can't think of at the moment. i would assume (but i'm not sure) that the 5 speed getrag could also handle some crazy power (think 500-600hp reliably) Originally posted by BillBrasky. The number refers to the torque capacity of the trans. 240 = 240 lb ft of torque and so on. bolt pattern is the same, but the canting is 10 degrees different between the transmissions. Ratios are different. Notice the similar ratios between the Getrag 240 and the Getrag 260/5. This means that for those replacing their M20B20 engine with the more powerful M20B25, Sports performance can be achieving by keeping the original gearbox. However, don't let parts sellers convince you that the boxes are identical.

First, there is a drive gear on the trans output shaft that is replaced by a spacer bushing on the M3 trans.
